你听说过这些吗？你可能听说过帕特农神庙和雅典卫城。如果这些标志性的建筑纪念碑得不到保护和尊重，你能想象，现代世界将会有多么不同吗?在回答这个问题之前，我想和大家分享一些想法。想象世界就是你的家。你会怎么做来保护它？任何事情！如果你不得不选择你能保护的东西，你会选择拯救最有价值的东西。那些对你来说最重要的东西。父母给你的礼物，你最喜欢的玩具，一本你非常喜欢读的书，一些和朋友的合影。你最珍视的、在某一时刻塑造了你的东西，就是你的遗产。你把它们放在心里，放在脑海里，你会不惜一切代价保护它们，让它们安全地留给你的孩子。出于同样的原因，我们应该保护世界遗产，就好像它是我们自己的遗产一样。因为我们共同生活在这个世界上。我们共享它的遗产，它属于全人类，保护世界遗产至关重要，因为它反映了人类的集体历史和特性，正如我们珍惜和保护个人财产一样，我们也必须珍惜和保护决定我们共同遗产的文化瑰宝。你们不仅要保护树木，还要保护整个森林。

在保护和宣传世界文化遗产方面，您有什么可以做的吗？利用艺术的力量，绘画能够将人们联系在一起，讲述故事，捕捉不同文化的精髓，让不同群体之间更容易理解和欣赏。 

所以，行动起来，参加画展吧。你可以从自己的国家或其他你去过并喜欢的国家汲取灵感。通过尊重和珍视世界文化遗产，我们可以颂扬共同的人性，并确保你们这些年轻人将继续从这些无价之宝中汲取知识和灵感。我谨代表希腊大使馆邀请世界各地的年轻人积极参与 2023 年 "多彩世界 "国际青少年绘画邀请展。

多彩世界，保护世界文化遗产行动！

Hello everyone, I am Evgenios Kalpyris, the Ambassador of Greece to China. I am sure you are familiar with myths from the Greek mythology. And I am sure you are inspired by the achievements of Greek gods and heroes. Apart from the myths, our ancestors have also left us great monuments, forming part of a rich cultural legacy. 

Do you know any of them? You have probably heard of the Parthenon and the Acropolis. Can you imagine how different modern world could be, if that iconic monument of architecture were neglected and not respected? Before answering this question, let me share some thoughts with you. Imagine that the world is your home. What would you do to protect it? Anything! And if you had to choose among the things you could protect, you could choose to save the most valuable. The things that mean most to you. A gift from your parents, your favorite toy, a book that you really enjoyed reading, some photos with friends. The things that you treasure most and shape who you are at a certain point, is your heritage. You carry them inside your heart and in your mind and you would do anything to protect them and keep them safe for your kids. For the same reasons, we should protect world heritage, as if it were our own heritage. Because we share the world we live in. We share its heritage. It belongs to all humans. Protecting the world heritage is crucial because it reflects the collective history and identity of humanity. Just as we cherish and protect our personal belongings, it is essential to value and safeguard the cultural treasures that define our shared heritage. You must protect not only the tree, but also the whole forest. 

Is there anything you could do to contribute to the preservation and promotion of World Cultural Heritage? Use the power of art. Painting has the power to connect people, tell stories and capture the essence of different cultures, making easier understanding and appreciation among diverse communities.

So, take action and participate in a painting exhibition. You can draw inspiration by your country or another country you have visited and you liked. By respecting and valuing the world’s cultural heritage, we can celebrate our shared humanity and ensure that you, the young people will continue to learn from and be inspired by these invaluable treasures.On behalf of the Greek Embassy, I invite young people from all over the world to actively participate in the 2023 ‘Colorful World’ International Youth Painting Invitational Exhibition.
